About

Welcome to the first edition of Regent’s Youth Short Film Fest, hosted by Regent’s University London. Our festival is dedicated to celebrating and promoting the next generation of filmmakers—young creatives eager to innovate, learn, and share their unique visions with the world. Through a diverse selection of short films, we aim to foster a space for fresh voices, bold storytelling, and cinematic excellence.

Adam Luis Garcia

Originally from Michigan, Luis attended New York Film Academy and worked across

the film industry, in the camera, grip & gaff departments.

Retraining in screenwriting, Luis was awarded the Robert McKee Screenwriting

Scholarship at Regents University London, earning First Degree Honors in

Screenwriting and Producing. He joined BAFTA-nominated producer Jack Tarling at

Shudder Films, writing the short film, Special Delivery, directed by John McPhail for

20th Digital Studios and premiering on HULU. He also associate produced the Aislinn

Clarke helmed Eye Exam. He continued to work with Jack as an associate producer

on the Oscar short-listed, BAFTA winning, KNEECAP, starring the eponymous

rappers and Academy Award nominated, Michael Fassbender.

Luis continues to work on his own projects. His debut as writer-director, the

sci-fi/drama, MEMORY MULE, is just entering its festival run.

Line Langebek

Line Langebek is a Danish screenwriter, based in London, who to date has worked as a commissioned writer in the UK, US, France, Denmark, and Norway.

Her most recent feature film, The Girl With the Needle (director Magnus von Horn) was in Official Competition in Cannes 2024 and had its North American premiere at TIFF24.

It was released in different territories by MUBI worldwide from December 2024 onwards. The film was nominated for a Golden Globe and is now nominated for an Oscar as Best Foreign Film.

Line and Magnus von Horn were nominated for a Best Screenplay Award

at the EFAs 2024, and Vic Carmen Sonne and Trine Dyrholm for Best Actress.
The film took home Excellence awards for Best Composer and Best Production Design.

Line’s past screen credits include the US feature film I’LL COME RUNNING, the 30-

min drama SINK OR SWIM for Channel 4, the Albanian-set documentary DUAM

DRÏTE: WE WANT LIGHT for French television, EVERGREEN, ANONYMOUS as well

as FIELD STORY (director Eva Weber). She was selected for the ‘Guiding Lights’

mentoring scheme, mentored by Frank Cottrell-Boyce, as well as the Berlinale Talent Campus.
